2 Ply Worsted Yarn; Brown - Brown Merino, Black Mohair and Sari Silk

$50.00

This yarn is composed of 60% brown Merino, 25% black Mohair and15% “carnival” Sari Silk; each skein weighs ~ 4 oz and is 200 yards. Merino and Mohair is a great combination. Merino wool is next-to-skin comfortable and offers good warmth, reasonable strength, elasticity, and luster. Mohair is lightweight, warm and insulating, has nice drape and is hard wearing. The Sari Silk is smooth and soft and adds the flecks of color to the yarn. Blended together this mixture provides a colorful yarn that is soft and light yet strong, hard-wearing and moisture-wicking.

The Merino Sheep and Angora goats are raised on our farm in Woodbine, Maryland and primarily graze on pasture. No pesticides are used on the farm. The fiber is shorn and then washed and cleaned on the farm. It was then spun at a local mill. The color of the yarn comes from the natural colors of the Merino and Mohair and the flecks of Sari Silk.

The purchase price is for one skein of yarn. There are multiple skeins of this yarn available that come from the same lot and can be considered practically identical.
