2 Ply Fingering Yarn; Dark Brown - Black/Brown Merino and Black Kid Mohair Blend

$55.00

This yarn is composed of 70% Black/Brown Merino and 30% Black Kid Mohair and each skein weighs ~ 4 oz and is 450 yards. Merino and Kid Mohair is our favorite - and softest - blend. Merino wool is next-to-skin comfortable and offers good warmth, reasonable strength, elasticity, and luster. Kid Mohair is from the first shearing and is very fine and soft; Mohair is lightweight, warm and insulating, has nice drape and is hard wearing. Blended together the Merino-Kid Mohair mixture provides an unparalleled yarn that is extremely soft and light yet strong, hard-wearing and moisture-wicking.

The Merino Sheep and Angora goats are raised on our farm in Woodbine, Maryland and primarily graze on pasture. No pesticides are used on the farm. The fiber is shorn and then washed and cleaned on the farm. It was then spun at a local mill. No dyes were used in the yarn; the color can be characterized as dark brown and is the natural color of the fibers when mixed.

The purchase price is for one skein of yarn. There are multiple skeins of this yarn available that come from the same lot and can be considered practically identical.
