About Withers Wool and Farm in Woodbine Maryland

Withers Wool and Farm is a 23 acre farm in picturesque Woodbine, MD that with a focus on creating fiber products for discriminating customers. Our passion is our local herd of Angora Goats and Merino Sheep that provide the fiber for our yarns, roving, and unique finished goods. We have been in business since 2002 and at our Woodbine, MD location since 2012. We carefully. manage the animals and the land for optimum health. No pesticides are used on the farm and the Angora Goats and Merino Sheep are carefully rotated across our various pastures to graze. Our greatest joy is for people to visit the farm to mingle with the friendly farm animals (goats, sheep, peacocks and chickens), walk thru our lovely pollinator garden, and visit the 3000 square foot renovated barn that is our local store to see and feel our skin-soft yarns, roving and unique finished goods. We also offer a variety of fiber-related classes and our constantly updating our class offerings.

All of our yarn, roving, and finished goods are made from the fiber of our farm animals - our Angora Goats and Merino Sheep. We hand wash all the fleeces at the farm using only soap appropriate for fine fibers. No chemical or fragrances are used on the fiber.

Our main products at the farm shop are yarn, either hand spun yarn that we have spun ourselves or mill spun yarn - our fiber spun into yarn at the mill. We have an extensive collection of roving and batts - carded fiber that can be spun or felted. There are also a variety of finished goods we make using the yarn and roving/batts by knitting, crocheting, weaving and felting.

Part of our passion is helping people to learn new skills and we offer a variety of classes and workshops taught by several different instructors. We occasionally formally schedule these sessions but most are set up by people reaching out to us and we coordinate a mutually agreeable time between us and you (or your group).

That’s a little about us, the farm and our products. Our greatest joy is when people come to visit. We hope to see you.
